Case Details
The accused met the alleged victim and they began to date. Things became very serious.
One day, they decided to try ecstasy together. It was the alleged victim’s first time trying ecstasy.
The allegation was that during the time they were high, the accused got angry, climbed on top of the victim and punched her several times.
At trial, the Crown sought to introduce a videotaped statement of the alleged victim where she details the assault against her.
After hearing legal argument, Justice Letourneau of the Ontario Court of Justice concluded that he would consider that evidence. However after considering all of the evidence, and the arguments brought forward by David Anber, he found the accused NOT GUILTY.
