Daniel V.’s Case, Ottawa
Charges
Possession of a Controlled Substance, Crack Cocaine (1.9 grams)
Result
Conditional Discharge (no criminal conviction)
Case Details
This client, a popular exotic dancer in the Ottawa area, was asleep when the police busted down her door looking for a person of interest. When they searched the place they found crack in her purse. She maintained it was not her’s but since she knew it was there she would likely be found guilty.
Although normally crack would attract a serious penalty (criminal record and possibly jail), Mr. Anber persuaded the sentencing judge to grant a conditional discharge which would result in no criminal conviction.
